Hello Peter, we appreciate your presence today for this conversation. Could you introduce yourself to those among us who might not be familiar with your work and background?
It’s been a pleasure speaking with you all. My foray into the iGaming world started over six years ago, marking an exhilarating journey full of learning curves. My military service laid the groundwork with a strong sense of competition and discipline. A particular memory stands out when Sebastian illustrated affiliate marketing using simplistic salt and pepper shakers during a dinner, making it all click for me.
Establishing Denmark as my base was a deliberate choice after my travels, which were part and parcel of military life, weren't a long-term plan. My entrance into the iGaming affiliate space coincided with meeting Traffic Lab, a company defined by intense passion and a healthy yet competitive ambiance. It's a place where achieving the impossible is not just encouraged but expected, with a wave of inspiration continuously fueling my drive in the sector.
Having held various pivotal positions at Traffic Lab for over six years, it’s likely that there are few better suited to explain the inner workings of the company. Could you tell us about Traffic Lab’s functioning, your primary traffic sources, and the markets in which you operate?
Traffic Lab stands at the forefront of affiliate marketing, specializing in delivering superior quality online traffic to casinos and gaming platforms. Our success is rooted in harnessing innovative technologies, informed data-driven tactics, and a profound understanding of the market. We excel at asset optimization, thriving as a self-financed enterprise that strategizes with autonomy. While our expertise is deeply seated in SEO, we also leverage paid media and email marketing. This multi-dimensional technique affords us optimal risk management and a robust environment for experimental strategies grounded in data insights. I would confidently claim that our method of optimizing casino visibility ranks among the best globally. To illustrate a few of our resources:
Kasinohai , Uusimmatkasinot , Bogdan Cazino, Casino Bernie , and Casino Crawlers. If an online casino wants to collaborate with Traffic Lab, how should they go about it, and are there specific prerequisites that you look for in your partners?
Our operations are governed by a set of invariable rules, including:
1- The operators need to have a license.
2- Operators must offer an applicable Affiliate system.
3- The presence of a ‘No Negative Carryover’ (NNCO) provision is essential.
4- Payments are predominantly conducted through bank transfers, with no acceptance of cryptocurrency transactions.
Moreover, additional elements that enhance partnership efficacy include our high resource demand, though limited casino exposure capacity. New pages undergo testing before our machine learning tools evaluate casinos using client inputs. Despite stringent criteria, we prioritize partnerships with entities that align with our ethos, possess solid credibility, and envisage mutual long-term growth potential. Trust and transparency lie at the crux of successful partnerships. Online casino entities wishing to collaborate can reach out to our Head of Account.
As an affiliate in the iGaming sector, what are your observations about the industry's current state and its future? Is there a feeling that the market is becoming oversaturated, narrowing down opportunities?
The iGaming industry, while fiercely competitive, remains vibrant and rife with opportunity. Although certain markets show signs of reaching maturity, numerous emerging spaces exhibit significant growth potential. Instead of observing it as a reduction scenario, I perceive it as a highly adaptable and dynamic domain where innovation fosters success. Growth trends among prominent affiliates show exponential patterns, presenting challenges for new entrants, though pathways exist.
Is Traffic Lab on the brink of unveiling any significant developments? Should we be on the lookout for major news in 2024?
We’re capping off 2023 with the strategic initiation of a new office in Denmark as part of perpetually evolving our company culture. This latitude enables in-depth innovation exploration, ensuring refined outcomes for our partners. While I can’t disclose specifics at this stage, rest assured - anticipate noteworthy advancements and potentially groundbreaking announcements from us in 2024. Stay tuned!
On a personal note, if you had the opportunity to change something about the iGaming industry, what would be your focus?
I envisage improved professional transparency, ideally with mandatory payments enforced by affiliate systems. Personally, I believe affiliate systems bear a larger responsibility than typically perceived. Although they persist in refining their product for better User Experience (UX), there's further ground to cover. True data connectivity at client levels could vastly reduce the redundant tracking frameworks currently overwhelming the landscape while utilizing UTM parameters and robust API solutions. Payment issues, unfortunately, mean maintaining dedicated teams solely to manage payment retrieval, which is less than ideal.
Constructive moves toward genuine data transparency will substantially raise the stakes for both operators and affiliates, primarily affecting the more saturated brands that encounter challenges in their investment proposals. Thus, collaborations yielded through these enhanced channels may contribute significantly to a more prosperous and consistently evolving iGaming ecosystem.
What advice do you have for newcomers aiming to excel in the iGaming affiliate arena? What strategies would you suggest for achieving notable success?
My advice for newcomers to the iGaming affiliate world is to nurture continual curiosity and an open mindset towards learning. Identifying and sticking to a niche is paramount. This doesn’t prevent exploration of different domains, but establishing a strong foundation should be a priority. Extraordinary results are by-products of consistent growth and flexibility.
Thanks, Peter, for sharing your time and insights with us. Is there anything else you would like to add before we conclude?
