Hello, Cordelia! It's a pleasure to connect. With over a decade in HR and recruitment, could you share your story with us?

Certainly! I'm grateful for this opportunity! I ventured into recruitment in early 2013 after interning with Reed, a leading UK family-owned agency in my hometown. This experience took me to London, where I excelled in senior finance roles and eventually led teams, a challenging yet rewarding journey that built my resilience. A later move to Malta followed due to Reed's head office, transitioning to business management and in-house roles at an online dating company, later advancing to gaming at Catena Media and KaFe Rocks. Anticipating a short stay, 6 years and over 3 months have passed, holding cherished memories of impactful hiring experiences.

What inspired you to create CMC Consulting? Can you share the core philosophy that drives it?

Starting my business in April was exhilarating, yet a leap of faith into something I've always envisioned. A swim inspired this venture, prompting an update on LinkedIn that garnered my first client within an hour, affirming the timing. The essence of my business is to provide expert advisory, either in recruitment or broader HR services, to enhance gaming and crypto companies' operations worldwide. CMC Consulting We operate as a finely-tuned executive search and selection enterprise, selectively choosing collaborations with clients we genuinely admire, adding a distinct personal touch to our services!

As a pioneer in contemporary HR management practices, how do you think employers can positively influence employee well-being in today's work environments?

As the world adapts to new realities, addressing workplace flexibility has become crucial, a point I discussed at Sigma Dubai and Casino Beats Malta. Flexibility, whether via benefits or hybrid models, is key to fostering a satisfied and engaged workforce, supporting business leaders in developing this environment.

In your HR practice, which industries do you primarily target?

Currently, my focus remains on Gaming and Crypto. Nevertheless, I am evaluating other sectors as business opportunities expand.

Does the HR landscape differ significantly in the iGaming industry compared to others?

The iGaming sector is exhilarating due to the vibrant individuals it attracts, who are unafraid to voice their perspectives, aligning it with cutting-edge advancements.

Observing the trends, remote work is gaining traction. What are your perspectives on this shift?

A fully remote or hybrid work model is pivotal for drawing in generation Z and represents the future working landscape.

What implications do you foresee for society as remote work becomes more prevalent?

Training and mentoring junior people in a remote format poses challenges but equally allows vast opportunities by tapping into a significantly larger global talent pool.

How do these societal shifts in remote work affect you on a personal level?

We are indeed entering a transformative phase regarding workplace expectations and corporate structures, a thrilling prospect for future developments.

Effective workplace communication is key, and the tools we use have evolved dramatically over the past decade. What is your take on these changes, and how do they impact work productivity?

Certainly! The digital age brought a revolution in communication tools, and there's potential to further evolve to metaverse interactions. Choosing tools that simulate human connection effectively will be instrumental in nurturing remote team culture.

Looking forward, what are the hurdles you anticipate facing to achieve your vision and goals?

Presently, my focus is on expanding my business, actively networking and attending as many industry events as possible to fuel this growth. The business climate is vibrant and full of potential!

How do you propose to assist companies with challenges in managing their personnel?

In my HR partnerships, understanding teams, their leaders, and growth areas is fundamental. Recognizing that no one is flawless guides how I support teams in meeting their objectives.

Maintaining a balance between work and personal life, as well as having hobbies, is essential for continued motivation. What is your opinion on the unlimited vacation policy, especially for those deeply committed to their work?

Introducing unlimited vacation at KaFe Rocks was my initiative to promote rest, joy, and refreshment among the workforce. While obligatory attendance is expected, this policy supports employees in taking necessary breaks.

You are qualified as a yoga instructor. What motivated you to pursue this path?

Absolutely, pursuing yoga instruction had been a long-standing aspiration. Finally venturing on my own, I seized this moment, spontaneously signed up, leading to an immersive three-week training in Cyprus. The physical aspect was more demanding than anticipated, yet thoroughly rewarding. It's a rare opportunity for introspection on personal happiness and life goals.

Completing my yoga training prompted reflection on providing value as an instructor. Inspired by initiatives like Tom Galanis' This Years Rule, I found purpose teaching in elderly care homes, enhancing mobility and flexibility, alongside supporting local animal charities.

What's something fascinating you've read or watched recently that you want to share?

Every morning, immersing in The Daily Stoic uplifts my mindset, presenting a concise meditation to fuel my day's introspection and growth, which I often discuss with a friend for varying interpretations.

If you found yourself stranded on a deserted island, what single item could you not go without?

My indispensable item would be my yoga mat—practicing yoga on the sand doesn’t quite cut it!
